To continue on from our recent series of reviewing and previewing the latest smartphones that have just been announced, this week we look at Google and their brand new Pixel and Pixel XL phones. They were both revealed at the ‘Made by Google’ event where Sundar Pichai and gang also showcased some other pieces of hardware – Daydream View VR headset, Chromecast Ultra and Google Home.

Facebook successfully launched their space drone that Zuckerberg hopes to eventually deliver free internet to every human being on Earth. These are some of the lofty ambitions Mark has to one day control every aspect of your life and the scary thing is – they’re not that far off now.

San Diego is where it’s at this week with all the fanfare and geeky goodness coming out of the annual nerd fest that is Comic-Con. In episode 67, we cover the news of Nintendo continuing their nostalgia run with the launch of a mini NES, Uber reaching 2 billion trips, rumours that Apple will buy Formula 1, Samsung Note 7 to have an iris scanner and Google will build a AR headset to compete with Microsoft. Will it get any crazier? It does. Japanese telco giant SoftBank buys an arm for $32b, not just any arm but chip designer ARM. Their chip designs are found in Apple and Samsung devices and may other devices that connect to the internet.

Our main feature covers the Star Wars Celebration event in London where we look at more Rogue One details and a spoiler, which we didn’t spoil. The event covers all things geeky from the animated series to how they built the cardboard models of all the machines to prepare for the movies.
